   Well globalization connects and brings people from all over the world together in one place. It sounds like a wonderful Utopian ideal, until you consider the fact that most people are not too keen on giving up their own culture. There is no such thing as multiculturalism. What defines a society is a shared culture. This includes language, religious beliefs, values, etc… When a society does not share a culture, it becomes fragmented, as most people retreat to their own group. You will also have the different culture vying for dominance. When you have a multicultural society, there will always be one dominant culture which subsequently oppresses all the other cultures.
   Another important factor is that problems arise when you have two cultures that have contradictory values, such as Islam and Western liberalism. Western liberalism says everyone should have freedom of religion, Islam disagrees. What happens when you put these two together? Well I recommend you take a look at what is beginning to unfold in Europe. Civil war is the result of two or more cultures vying for dominance.

   Maybe for example French culture. They’ve complained that American globalization is and has encroached on their own culture. For example the presence of fast food restaurants is one thing that is “not” typically French and has irritated many people in France.
