As we fight in Iraq, our own companies are outsourcing to contries like Inda, who’s richest citizens are enjoying luxuries beyond most Americans dreams, at what is considered middle class wages in the USA. As this continues, the USA will find it harder to maintain the high standard of living at the expense of poorer nations. War will become a last ditch effort, but will prove too costly to do any good.

Personally, I think Europe generally has been one of the areas of the world which has benefited from globalization. Freedom from trade barriers, increased mobility and higher consumption equals growth. They have done a moderately good job at controlling polution and maintaining their own individuality and culture.

The reason the U.S. population is against globalization has little or nothing to do with religion. The U.S. is currently the de facto world police force. Any conflict that arises the usless United Nations calls upon the world to send its troops into harms way… BUT the bulk of those troops are always U.S. forces. AND the U.S. always becomes the world bully because of it. Globalization would only exacerbate this situation. In addition, our form of government, a Republic, would not operate well in a global political system. We are a nation of laws with a constitution that values the rights of the individual. A global political system however embraces the concept of the greatest good for the greatest number. In a word communism.

That is the main reason the U.S. resists a global political system, not religion.

Globalization, before it reaches its fulness, may well bring about the return of our Lord for us. Globalization may be setting the stage for the appearance of the Anti-Christ. The world today would give just about anything for one who could put the world economies on track.

But on the other hand, the church may well be on this earth for some time yet. Of course, it will oppose globalization. And I suspect that the US will too. As a believer all I can do is trust in my Lord, and come what may, I know that He is with me and will guide me through what could be very troubling times ahead.

Don’t worry; even if globalisation happens, by that point we’ll have many millions of people living in orbiting space colonies and they’ll just declare their independence from Earth altogether. This will, of course, lead to some very nasty wars.

Globalization will not be Christianity’s downfall. It’s the corruption and immorality within Christianity itself that will ultimately do that if it happens at all. All institutions have their time and then they die.
